But not for Christmas this year!

I'm taking a blogging break while on our road trip to Florida.

So see you when we get back home in November!

I'll be in FULL Christmas mode by then!

Fun Treats To Make!

I like these felt gift tags...easy to make and a fun way to dress up a Christmas gift.

It would be cute to embroider or write the gift recipient's name on the snowman.

I just might try making these for our Christmas BUNCO!

I think the girls would enjoy these and they are so festive!

Two Christmas Sweetie Pies!

My parents had a sweet dachshund, Tina, and for that reason I will forever love this breed of dog.

Tina's fur was like velvet and she loved to have her belly rubbed.

These two are just adorable dressed up in their Christmas finery.

I love their chocolate brown eyes and little black noses!

I Believe in Santa Claus!

My Third Grade teacher told her class one winter day that there was no Santa Claus.

I remember being very upset and going home to tell my Daddy what the teacher said.

And I will never forget what my Daddy replied...

"Santa Claus will only visit those children that believe."

I believed then and I believe now.

There is a Santa Claus and I know because he visits me every Christmas!

Red & Silver

This lantern really captures my eye with it's red paint and red and silver ornaments.

It sure makes the Christmas season bright!

And here are more reds with silver glittering in the snow!

A Merry White Christmas Tree Snowman!

Source: bhg.com via Teacup Lane on Pinterest

Well, now this is clever...a beautiful...

 White Christmas Tree Snowman!

I love the black Christmas bulbs as the Snowman's buttons.

Now the question is... do I have storage for another Christmas tree?

In white?

I wish!

Maybe I could find room for a smaller one than this one...

It could be as a Christmas Tree Snow Kid?

Just don't tell my Hubby I'm seriously considering this because I know I have way too much Christmas decorations already.

Link for Frosty The Snowman Christmas Tree (here).

Instructions:
Frosty the Snowman Christmas Tree
Celebrate the season anew with a Frosty the Snowman-inspired Christmas tree. Craft or buy a papier-mache snowman head and place atop a white artificial Christmas tree. Space three blackornament balls down the center to create buttons, secure silver branches to the middle for arms, and position rain boots under the base to create feet.
Finish by wrapping a red scarf underneath Frosty's head and embellishing all over with transparent ornament balls and silver snowflake ornaments. Don't forget the black top hat tree topper!
Editor's Lighting Tip: To prevent themed or white Christmas trees from looking busy, keeplighting simple. Use a few subtle strands of Christmas lights or none at all.

My Christmas Bunny Tree Topper

This is my Bunny Christmas Tree Topper...I call her "Miss Flower".

She's a hand-painted glass blown ornament made by German artists.

I had a hard time choosing a Christmas tree topper - you will not believe how many glass blown ornaments this Christmas gift shop has to choose from - the store has several rooms and each is just filled to the brim with so many beautiful ornaments.

I chose "Miss Flower" because I thought it was so unusual to see a bunny Christmas tree topper instead of the usual Snowman or Santa.

I love Snowmen and Santa Clauses but I'm crazy about Bunnies too.

"Miss Flower" is about ten and an half inches tall.

And she is soooo precious I keep her in my china cabinet just so I can enjoy her all year long.

Cold, Cold Heart

I fell in HEART with this snowy, icy cold but lovely ornament.

As Hank Williams sang so many years ago...

"Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold, cold heart."

What a cute couple!

I bought my Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus Creamer & Sugar Set from Avon in 1983.

I love setting this adorable couple out at Christmas in their bright red, white and green finery.

My Angel Snowman Silver Spoon Ornament

I love my hand-painted Angel Snowman Silver Spoon ornament!

I bought mine from the very talented Laurie's Charming Designs.

I posted previously about this stunning ornament (here).

I actually bought four different spoons...keeping one for myself and giving one to each of my three sister-in-laws for Christmas one year.  I must confess I wanted to keep all of them they were so beautiful.  But I also wanted to give one to each of my wonderful sister-in-laws.

The Angel Snowman is sitting in a Waterford crystal sugar bowl...this sugar bowl and it's matching creamer was an anniversary gift from my employer one year.

On each fifth year anniversary my employer would let its employees select a nice gift for their service to the company.   This particular anniversary I picked out the sugar and creamer Waterford crystal set.

My adorable Angel Snowman has a special place in my china cabinet so I can look at it all year long.

Do you have a special ornament that you treasure?

The Blue Hour

A beautiful "blue hour" snow scene!

The blue hour comes from the French expression l'heure bleue, which refers to the period of twilight each morning and evening where there is neither full daylight nor complete darkness. The time is considered special because of the quality of the light at this time of day.
