My Christmas Starburst Ripple

I'm back!

To share one of my Christmas crochet projects with you.

This is the first circular ripple I've ever done so far...

I asked readers of my regular blog, Teacup Lane, for name suggestions because I'm lousy at naming things.

My dear blogging friend, Barbara F., suggested "Starburst" which is so appropriate that I wonder why I, duh, couldn't come up with a name like that!

If you want to see more information and photos of my Christmas Starburst ripple project click (here).

I'm working on another Christmas throw in the same colors...this one a Granny Rose...and it's going to be a beauty.

I'll post about it soon.

I don't think you can have too many Christmas throws!

Still Christmas Here!

See me reflected in my ornament!
Slowly...very slowly I'm putting away Christmas decorations.

All the exterior lights and decor are put away and every room is done except for the Christmas tree in our family room.

I don't really make New Year's resolutions but one thought I have had is to add more RED to my home.

It's my favorite color and most of my Christmas decorations are RED but my home is lacking this bold, beautiful and bright color the rest of the year.

So, I hope to change that and bring more RED into my life.

How about you - do you love RED too?

Red & Silver

This lantern really captures my eye with it's red paint and red and silver ornaments.

It sure makes the Christmas season bright!

And here are more reds with silver glittering in the snow!

Cold, Cold Heart

I fell in HEART with this snowy, icy cold but lovely ornament.

As Hank Williams sang so many years ago...

"Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold, cold heart."

What a cute couple!

I bought my Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus Creamer & Sugar Set from Avon in 1983.

I love setting this adorable couple out at Christmas in their bright red, white and green finery.

Ice Skating Doll

This is just the most beautiful felt doll - all decked out in red and ready to go ice skating!

If you have never visited Creative Breathing's blog you must go there to see all of Elizabeth's fantastic designs.

I am amazed at the detail in Elizabeth's hand made felt creations and her delightful creative writing about her life.

Elizabeth is so generous too... sharing her felt patterns with us.

One of these days I hope to try to make one.

Mirror and Hanging Garland

This is a beautiful way to hang your special ornaments.

What do you think of the red walls?

I like them although I doubt I would ever paint mine red.

I tend to go with light shades on my walls.

You can see the fireplace reflected in the mirror...I guess the mirror is over a table rather than the fireplace.

A Christmas Cottage

Who wouldn't love a Christmas cottage like this one!

Be still my beating heart....

Candy Cane Centerpiece

There I am again....falling in love with RED and White!

This stunning centerpiece shouldn't be too hard to put together.

I already have a white milk vase and a Holly tree with the red berries growing in our back yard.

And it would be easy to finish it off by purchasing some candy canes.

I'm seeing it already on our coffee table in our living room.

Another great decorating idea thanks to Pinterest!

Two Perfect Winter Scenes

Two of my favorite colors are here...RED and TURQUOISE!

I love the red berries and snowy branches in the background.

And isn't it neat the way the photographer's image is captured beautifully in the shiny turquoise ornament.

Two perfect winters scenes on display.

Frame It!

Isn't this a cute idea?

Frame and hang your favorite Christmas ornaments.

This one is stunning in the red, white and green colors.

And the neat thing is you can change your theme year by year.

Decorated All in RED!

I just love this window trimming in white and red.

There's even a red and white teddy bear sitting on the window ledge.

Be still my beating RED heart!

I have fake green garland...maybe I need to get some white garland and try this treatment?

Hanging all this stuff is so much easier now with the 3M Command (removable) strips.

Do you decorate your windows?

Lots of RED and WHITE!

What a terrific display of red and white vintage dishes and Santas!

I would love to have this in my kitchen.

Wish I could see more of the rustic cupboard too.

I have a dinner set for ten of the "Christmas Heritage" dishes by Pfaltzgraff ~ thanks to the many generous gifts from relatives over the years.

It makes a very pretty dinner setting during the holiday.

Do you have any holiday dishes?
