My Vintage Shiny Brite Ornaments

Hurray...our Christmas boxes were put into storage before the end of January!

The house seems empty now.

Not as colorful or festive.

I still have some of the original Shiny Brite boxes.

Is it just me or do you love these vintage bulbs as much as I do?

And there are more REDs to enjoy with our host, Sue, at

New Storage for Our Christmas Dishes

Take a look at my post on my regular blog, Teacup Lane, where I talk about our new storage units (here) for our Christmas dishes.

Check out my past post on my Christmas china (here).

I love having all my Christmas china in one display area.

How about you?

Where do you store and/or display your Christmas china?

Unusual Christmas Decor

Can you guess what I am...other than a snowman?

I'm a tea bag holder!

What's better than one tea bag holder?

How about two!

Three is a lucky number for me.

And four is the final number.

Aside from the practical use of these Christmas tea bag holders I love to set them out as decoration at Christmas!

Next Christmas I'm going to hang them up with those nifty 3M Command strips!

Still Christmas Here!

See me reflected in my ornament!
Slowly...very slowly I'm putting away Christmas decorations.

All the exterior lights and decor are put away and every room is done except for the Christmas tree in our family room.

I don't really make New Year's resolutions but one thought I have had is to add more RED to my home.

It's my favorite color and most of my Christmas decorations are RED but my home is lacking this bold, beautiful and bright color the rest of the year.

So, I hope to change that and bring more RED into my life.

How about you - do you love RED too?

Now's The Time To Craft for Christmas!

I've never understood why the TV shows and magazines always wait until close to Christmas to share decorating ideas... especially for crafts.

Who has the time to make something then?

Why not start early in the year and have your felt decorations all done well before the Christmas season starts.

These delightful felt ornaments should get your creative juices flowing!

Try a beautiful felt embroidered snowflake!

Or maybe a country felt star ornament in those lovely rustic colors...

Perhaps a pretty little felt heart embroidered and embellished with seed pearls...

How about a fancy Poinsettia pin in felt!

These would be pretty as garland too.

And lastly, if you are very talented as our beloved Elizabeth, or wish you could be, you couldn't resist making one of her felt snowmen!

Visit Elizabeth's blog to get her free pattern.

Have fun making these into garlands, ornaments or pins!

Let me know if you make any - I would love to see your results.

Vintage Christmas Table Cloth

Vintage Red & Green Poinsettia Tablecloth

I love this vintage Christmas Poinsettia Tablecloth passed down from my dear MIL.

It drapes this little round table nicely in the corner of our family room!

I'm fighting the urge to start putting Christmas decorations away.

It is just lovely here today in the high 50s F.

We took our travel van out for a ride and had lunch at Perkins.

Hope you are having a beautiful day too.
