It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas!

Here's an updated photo of our fireplace mantel.

I keep finding Christmas decorations to put out.

I still have some wreaths to hang around the house.

Click (here) to see our Christmas Trees and Snowman Front Door Decor that I posted about on my regular blog, Teacup Lane.

The stuffed Snowmen on our fireplace mantel and this cute Santa were bought at our local Christmas craft fair this year.

The vintage train lantern next to Santa belonged to my Hubby's maternal Grandfather who was a conductor on the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Here's a close up of one of the Snowmen.

You can see the cute candy cane lights I put up on the mantel here.

And this is the other Snowman.

That's a vintage red velvet deer standing on the mantel that was passed down from my parents.

These are cute signs I've collected over the years...

I love 3M Command Strips...I hung this on our kitchen cabinet door with the strips.

And lastly a look at our foyer decorated for Christmas...

The Santa door decor is held up by magnets.

The Christmas Angel doll hanging on the wall was purchased quite a few years ago.

That's all for now.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoyed my Christmas tour.

Sugar Plum Fairy & Lollipop Christmas Tree

This is truly a beautiful Christmas tree.

I can hear "The Nutcracker" playing in the background and see the Sugar Plum Fairy dancers spinning and jumping around this lovely tree.

See the colorful lollipops on the tree.

Make your own felt lollipops for your Christmas tree.

Rather than buy candy lollipops (which could be expensive to get in a  large size) or expensive glass lollipops ornaments here's a DIY to make lollipops out of felt.

I'm putting this craft project on my "hope-to-do" list for Christmas.

Winter Whimsy

Isn't this the most dreamy Winter Whimsy scene?

As I was admiring the snowy garland in this photo I thought to myself...gee...these look like ....marshmallows.

It can't be...

Not only do they look like marshmallows....they are marshmallows....in fact there are 300 of them!

How pretty and clever is this?

Just stunning!

And that flocked white Christmas tree is to die for.

This is truly a magical winter whimsy moment!

Thanks "Blue Eyed Yonder" for sharing!

An Old Fashioned Christmas

I love this old fashioned Christmas front door decoration.

Just proves you don't have to go overboard to have a lovely decorated door.

There's something about white bedding that I like...you know it's clean and it always looks fresh.

That headboard is just stunning and I love the simple spread with the red stripes.

I've never had a Christmas tree in a bedroom but doesn't it look lovely here?

Do you decorate your bedrooms for Christmas?

Santa Collections

"They" (i.e., the decorators) say you should group your collections to make a grand statement.

I tend to agree with them.

The wreath, plaid buckets and the various vintage Santas grouped here make a fantastic display of this collection.

The same can be said for this collection of vintage Santa mugs in different shapes and sizes.

It hits the jackpot for visual impact.

Christmas 2009 at Sandy Snowflake

Here's my attempt to make a visual statement.  Ha!

Not as grand as the others I admit.

But I try...for Christmas 2009 I displayed some of my Santas on and around our family room fireplace.

Do you have any Christmas collections you like to display?

Wreath Snowman

I'm tempted to try making this adorable

Wreath Snowman

this Christmas.

I think it is so cute.

Our home is set back from the road quite a bit so something this large will be seen better.

I have a heavy paper door liner in red that I save from year to year and the green wreath snowman should really POP off that background.   You could also make the snowman out of white or red wreaths.  I can crochet a colorful scarf for it too.

Karen from "Sew Many Ways" blog is the creator of this fantastic idea and she has a tutorial (here) on how to make her snowman.  She uses green plastic tie tags to tie together the wreaths.  Ever since my Hubby showed me tie tags several years ago I use them all the time.

Thanks Karen for sharing your fantastic decoration!

I love Snowmen!

Decorated All in RED!

I just love this window trimming in white and red.

There's even a red and white teddy bear sitting on the window ledge.

Be still my beating RED heart!

I have fake green garland...maybe I need to get some white garland and try this treatment?

Hanging all this stuff is so much easier now with the 3M Command (removable) strips.

Do you decorate your windows?

Is it too early to put Christmas trees up?

I don't think so.

If this was my kitchen I'll leave the tree up all year.

Gosh, I love the blue and white tile backsplash in this cheery kitchen!

How early do you start Christmas decorating?
